Our tried and tested model of care ensures participants receive the highest standard of supports to enable them to live as independently as possible, and with minimal disruption to their daily activities.

Our Model of Care

Disability Support

DCR operates an ‘Extended Care Model’ which features a dedicated care team of two (2) staff (with one reserve to cover staff illness or other emergencies), each of whom work on rotation with a client on a ‘live-in’ basis on average for five (5) to seven (7) days.

As a registered NDIS provider, our disability care services support those who live with physical, intellectual or psychosocial disabilities through delivering:

  • Supported Independent Living (SIL)

  • Community Participation

Community Programs

DCR’s Community Program was established to enrich the lives of our participants and provide meaningful connections, activities and opportunities. This program allows participants to access a series of ongoing activities and gatherings, crafted with the assistance of a participant-led advisory panel, hosted across a series of hubs throughout South East Queensland.

A weekly activity guide is created for support workers as a means to engage participants in a substantial suite of activities happening in their local area and beyond. The guide highlights activities across a range of areas, catering for different accessibility needs, interests and capacities.  The focus of these activities are social, creative, movement and connection to nature and culture, including Indigenous programming included to connect or reconnect participants with the rich heritage of this country's First Nations people.

Child Protection

DCR provides support to children and young adults who are in the care of the State, and provides them with services that benefit their health and wellbeing and aid their development.

DCR was first awarded Preferred Supplier status with the former Department of Families (Qld), initially in October 2004, and currently holds a State-wide licence as an ‘out of home’ care provider under the Queensland child protection legislation in accordance with the Queensland Human Services Quality Standards.
